Paintings and works on paper

Shape, color, and composition are the visual elements that fascinate me and have constantly challenged me.

I do not depart from reality; associations with representational images I try to avoid. I create autonomous forms; they stand on their own.

I usually start by drawing lines and shapes on paper or prepared canvas. They have to work and "do" something; if not, I start over. The next ones enter into a relationship with the first and begin a dialogue, so to speak. This process continues until a set of interacting images emerges. It is as if I put down a form and go on an adventure from there, seeing if something exciting happens by allowing more and different forms and lines. Then, color, contrasts, or gradients follow.

My work can be classified as Organic Abstraction.
